It all started because he wanted a fan coil cover for his air-conditioner.

Stomper SK found it on Carousell on Sept 14 and messaged the seller about meeting up.

"Timing was discussed to be at 11am and we both agreed," recounted the Stomper.

"Then the seller changed the time to 10.30am and I was not agreeable. I did not reply.

"The next day (Sept 15), the seller messaged me on Carousell at 10.48am and said he would meet me at my lift lobby at 11.15am.

"Since the night before, I did not confirm with him after he messaged me about the 10.30am meet-up and I did not reply, I carried on with my work, leaving my home at 10.30am.

"Around 11.30am, he came to my address, which was earlier shared via the Carousell app. He kept knocking on my door for almost half an hour, thinking that I was home and didn't want to open my door.

"Out of frustration, he took my padlock, which was hanging at the gate (usually, I don't padlock my gate if I'm out for only a short while) and banged on my door vigorously, damaging it.

"At about 1pm, when I came back home, I discovered that my wooden door had some marks on it."

He checked his CCTV and saw a man clad in black knocking on his door "very aggressively and loudly".

The Stomper called the police after seeing the footage.

In response to a Stomp query, the police confirmed that a report was lodged.

Could it all have been avoided if the Stomper had just replied to the seller's request to change the time?

"'Make offer' was not even done on the Carousell app," said the Stomper.

"He even threatened me by saying he would be back."

The Stomper added that he had filed a magistrate's complaint for the damaged door.
