Stomper Alex, who found a woman's purse at the sheltered walkway near Pasir Ris MRT Station, has returned it to its rightful owner with the help of Stomp.

He stumbled upon the purse on Oct 26 and immediately decided to enlist the help of Stomp's extensive reach through social media to find its owner.

Said Alex:

"I think that Stomp is just really easy and convenient to report lost items to. Stomp's reach is so big that it makes it easy to trace people when it comes to matters like this."

Hong Choo's sister saw the posting and alerted her to it.

Alex met up with Hong Choo at Stomp's office to return her purse earlier today (Oct 31) and the duo were pleasantly surprised to realise that they knew each other.

Alex exclaimed, "We're neighbours! We live in the same block."

The two had a good laugh at how they should have realised that it was the other they were meeting.

Nonetheless, Hong Choo was thankful to Alex for returning her purse and said that it was of sentimental value from Hong Kong.

She brought two packets of her favourite banana cake from The Emerald Bakery to give to Alex and the Stomp Team.

At Stomp, we try our best to help people if they are in need.

One of the things that we have been doing quite effectively is to help people find lost items, and sometimes even missing people.

But we don't do this by ourselves. Our Stompers have been very helpful.

When people seek our help find lost items or missing people, we make use of our extensive reach and pool of helpful Stompers to try to help.

Here's what we do:

1. We publish the report on the Stomp website

2. We push the report on our social media (FB, WhatsApp, Twitter, etc)

3. We alert the owner of the missing item, or the relative of the missing person, when they are found
