An elderly man was sent to hospital after getting attacked by a monkey at the void deck of Block 472 in Segar Road today (Apr 17) at around 7.10am.

This is the fourth monkey-related incident that took place in the Segar Road area at Bukit Panjang in less than a month.

Today, Stomper Ruth told Stomp that her sister was left with a huge gash and a bruise after getting attacked by a monkey that had climbed into her flat on the 7th storey of Block 471.

Following the incident, the Stomper's sister was told by a neighbour that an elderly man was also attacked at the void deck of a HDB block in Segar Road this morning.

A photo sent by Ruth shows blood in front of a metal bench believed to be from the wounds of the man who was left injured by the primate.

When Stomp contacted the SCDF about the monkey attack, a spokesperson said:

"SCDF received a call for ambulance at the void deck of Block 472 Segar Road at about 7.10 in the morning and dispatched an ambulance to the scene.

"An elderly person was conveyed to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital."

In an earlier story, Stomp reported that Stomper Ruth's sister was bit by a monkey this morning at around 4am when she was sleeping. The primate left after that, but returned to the flat at 7am and bit her arm and thigh, leaving a huge gash.

The Stomper's sister left the flat and later went to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital to get her wounds treated.

On Apr 11, Stomper Emmanuel reported that a monkey had been wreaking havoc at his home's balcony on the second storey of Block 467 in Segar Road for three months.

Photos and a video he sent show a monkey in his flat with broken flower pots and a fallen bicycle around it.

On Mar 23, Stomper Dave saw a monkey at a playground near Block 471, where Ruth's sister is staying at.

In a video that he filmed, the animal can be seen walking across a grass patch before chasing after a woman, causing the latter to flee hurriedly.

See what happened during the earlier incidents in the videos below. The first video was sent by Stomper Emmanuel and the second video by Stomper Dave.
