Man, 25, charged for cheating woman of around $363,000 in investment scam

A 25-year-old man was charged on May 4 for allegedly cheating a woman of around $363,000.

The victim had handed over the monies to the man for "investment purposes," said the police, who received a report about the case on April 28.

Through follow-up investigations, officers from Clementi Police Division arrested the man on May 2.

His personal mobile device was seized for investigation.

If found guilty of cheating, the man faces up to ten years in jail and a fine.
