'You langgar me': Cyclist accuses car driver of hitting him at zebra crossing outside Jurong police HQ

A cyclist accused a driver of a car of hitting him at a zebra crossing outside Jurong Police Division Headquarters at Jurong West Avenue 5 on April 23.

It led to an argument between the two with vulgarities hurled at each other and a brief scuffle.

A three-minute video of the incident was posted by TikTok user Ayub Subin.

The video appears to be taken by the cyclist with his phone and he is not seen in the video.

A bicycle is shown lying on the road in front of a red Toyota Wish on the zebra crossing with a man, presumably the driver, standing next to the car.

Three other men wearing the same shirt as the driver were standing nearby. All their shirts had the logo of China Energy Engineering Corporation above the left breast pocket.

"You langgar (collide into) me? I go police station now," said the cyclist and repeatedly told the driver to follow him to the police station, but the driver just stood there, barely saying anything.

As they were blocking the road, one of the other men guided the driver to move aside so that the vehicles behind them could go through.

As the driver continued to ignore the cyclist haranguing him, the cyclist suddenly said: "You Chinese."

This triggered the driver, who shouted back: "Wei, you Malay ah?"

The cyclist replied: "Ey, I Malay, you know?"

"That means what?" asked the driver.

That led to an exchange of vulgarities between the two.

The video then shakes as the cyclist appears to fall on his back.

Getting up, he said to the driver: "You push me ah... You touch me ah."

As they faced each, the cyclist said: "You old man, you know, I don't want to fight you."

One of the other men then stepped forward to separate the two.

The cyclist continued accusing the driver of pushing him.

"I don't want to box you, you old man," said the cyclist. "You push me. I fall down, you know?"

The driver retorted: "But you don't say I'm Chinese."

"I Malay," said the cyclist.

"You Malay, why?" asked the driver.

The cyclist repeated that he did not want to fight the driver because the driver was an old man.

"Never mind, I old, never mind," said the driver.

"I don't want to box you. If you box you, you just fall down one lah," said the cyclist.

"Come lah. Try," replied the driver. "Try!"

The cyclist then tried again to get the driver to go to the police station with him.

The driver asked the cyclist to remove his bicycle, but the cyclist refused and threatened to post the video on TikTok.

The driver then said the cyclist was "a bit high" and warned him about the Central Narcotics Bureau.

"I don't care," said the cyclist. "Come, follow me to the police station."

The video ends with the two still arguing at the zebra crossing and has since been shared by SG Road Vigilante and others.

The cyclist has uploaded two other videos where he talked about happened in Malay.
