Grab a card, Pass a heart!

What: Grab a card, Pass a heart!
Launch of A.R.K Cards
Where: Junction 8 Open Plaza
When: Apr 5, 2pm- 5pm
Who: Everyone

A group of compassionate students from Temasek Junior College who are inspired to touch hearts and enrich lives, aim to promote graciousness in our society.

This project is strongly supported by Temasek Junior College, the Singapore Kindness Movement & Youth Challenge to introduce Singapore's first A.R.K (Acts of Random Kindness) cards.

People who receive the cards are encouraged to perform a simple act of kindness and later spread the kindness by passing the card to others.

Random acts of kindness are those sweet or lovely things we do for no reason. Simple acts like giving up your seat to the elderly, greeting your neighbours, and saying thank you to your parents - you are doing not what life requires of you, but what the best of your human soul invites you to do.

This project will be launched in conjunction with the Singapore Kindness Week (Apr 5- Apr 12).

The distribution of the A.R.K. cards will occur at the launch event. A simple act of kindness will be printed on each card and card-bearers are encouraged to perform a kind deed that is in line with the theme upon receiving a card. After completion of the kind deed, the card-bearer can now pass the card to someone else.

After the launch of the A.R.K. Cards, value-added activities will be carried out for two weeks to reinforce the importance of kindness in our society while the cards are in circulation.

Dreams, a musical

What: Dreams, a musical
Where: Republic Polytechnic, The Republic Cultural Centre, Theatre
When: Mar 28, 7.30pm
Who: Everyone. Please call 6456 1565 for tickets.

DREAMS is set at the Deyi School of Performing Arts, where talented teenage Singaporeans work not just towards a career in the arts, but to fulfil their dreams and aspirations.

The musical concentrates on the school's most gifted students: actors Doris, Matthew and Raul; dancer Jackson and their journeys through the hard work they have to put in to be good in their craft.

The play follows the gruelling but equally rewarding stages of their education; their first taste of superstardom, their moments of struggle through the hardships of academia, and the resolution of their life problems.

The faculty of teachers, just like teachers in Deyi, despite their strict no-nonsense exterior, guide the students through the course of their education with their passion, dedication and care.

Their harsh demeanours disguise a fervent concern for the cognitive and socio-emotional wellbeing of each student, ensuring a wholesome and secure rite of academic passage through the Deyi School of Performing Arts.

This is a musical about teenagers' hopes, dreams and aspirations.

It is about finding one's true calling in life through sheer effort, pains and joy on the road to greatness.

It is a journey about inspiring lives, nurturing talent and realising dreams.
