General Terms and Conditions
The following General Terms and Conditions are applicable to the “A Happy Journey Starts Like That” Contest (hereinafter to be referred to as the “Contest”). The Organisers mentioned in this Agreement refer to the Public Transport Council (PTC) and the Land Transport Authority (LTA).

1. Eligibility and Contest Period
  • The Contest is open to all citizens and residents of Singapore and is valid in Singapore only.
  • Employees of the organisers, authorized agents, contractors and partners associated with this Contest, and immediate family members of all such employees are not eligible to enter the Contest. Corporate or other entities are not eligible to participate in this Contest.
  • Persons below the age of 18 years of age are required to seek their parents or guardian’s consent to participate in this Contest.
  • Participants may submit their entries to the Contest from Saturday 23 May 2009, 0000 hours to Monday 31 August 2009, 2350 hours.
  • Notwithstanding anything in this Agreement, the organisers reserves the right at any time in its absolute discretion to :
    • cancel or modify the Contest;
    • delete and/or amend, by addition to, deletion from or variation of, these terms and conditions without prior notification, including but not limited to, the eligibility terms and criteria, the selection of winners, and the timing and venue of any act to be done, and all participants and winners shall be bound by such determination and/or amendments.

2. Participation
  • Each participant may only submit 1 entry for this Contest.
  • Entries should be original and unique.
  • Entries should not have won previous Contests and should not have been published elsewhere.
  • Entries must be submitted in English medium. All other languages or medium will be rejected.
  • Entries must be submitted in any of the following file specifications: o
    • Video: FLV, AVI, MOV, MPEG files (to be uploaded on the STOMP’s website).
    • Duration: 1 minute or less
  • Entries should include but are not limited to text, sounds, graphics, animations, video and scripting.
  • You are required to retain your original, unedited file (exactly as recorded) and provide it to the Organisers along with a list of your editing steps if requested.
  • All entries submitted for the Contest will be the sole property of the Organisers and will not be returned.
3. Judging Criteria
  • The entries will be judged on the basis of aesthetics, originality, composition, framing and consistency with the Contest theme.
  • The Winner shall only be selected if at least 20 entries meeting the judging criteria and respective details described in these rules and on the STOMP Website have been submitted and uploaded.
  • The Contest may end up with no Winner if fewer than 20 entries were received at the end of the Contest. The minimum quantity of 20 entries is justified by the need to have a reasonable pool of entries to select the Winner on a fair basis.
  • The decision of the judges shall be final and no correspondence will be entertained.
4. Winners and Prize Winning Ceremony
  • Contest winners will be notified by email or phone of which shall be the number used by the Participant upon participation. The winners’ name will also be published on the Contest website.
  • The Organisers reserves the right to change the prizes without any prior notification.
  • Prizes are non-transferable, non-exchangeable and non-redeemable for cash.
  • The winners are required to attend a prize giving ceremony at his/her own cost and expense to collect the prize. In the event that the Contest winner is not able to attend the prize giving ceremony, the winner must nominate a representative to be present at the prize giving ceremony to accept the prize on his/her behalf.
  • If requested, winners agree to conduct any and all media interviews related to the Contest.
5. Publicity
  • The Organisers reserves the right, at its sole and absolute discretion, to use the information in any manner whatsoever and entries of the Contest winner(s) and/or representatives without first obtaining any consent nor making any payment whatsoever to the Contest winner(s) and/or representatives for publicity, advertising, promotion purposes in any media.
  • If required by the Organisers or its partners, you shall at no expense provide a high quality copy of the entry submitted with your entry or render such reasonable assistance as the Organisers or its partners may require to use or implement your entry for the purposes contemplated in this Agreement.
6. Copyright Violations
  • You warrant to the Organisers that (a) your entry is an original work and you have the necessary right, power and authority to assign to the Organisers all rights, title and interest in and to the entry as required in this Agreement; (b) the Organisers’ or its partners’ use of the entry in accordance with this Agreement will not infringe or violate any intellectual property rights or other rights of a third party; (c) you waive and have obtained waivers from any contributors to your entry of all moral rights or rights to be named as author(s) in relation to the entry or any part thereof; and (d) nothing in the entry is libelous, slanderous, defamatory, scandalous, threatening, obscene, pornographic, offensive, lewd, improper or of such a nature which contravenes any laws, or may subject the Organisers or its partners to any action, proceedings or demands from any persons, and is not likely to damage or bring into disrepute the name or reputation of the Organisers or its partners.
7. Liability
  • The Organisers will not be responsible for any late, lost, garbled or misdirected entries.
8. Disqualification
  • The Organisers reserve the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any entries that does not meet the eligibilities.
  • The Organisers reserve the right to reject entries containing obscene, racist, unethical, dangerous, violent or legally objectionable material that may infringe upon any person’s personal or property rights.
9. Miscellaneous
  • This Agreement is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Singapore, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore in the determination of any matter or dispute arising in connection therewith.
  • This Agreement is not intended to confer rights on any third party, whether pursuant to the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act (Cap 53B) or otherwise, and no third party shall have any right to enforce any provision of this Agreement.
