What a way to start the weekend!

Daniel Toh sent STOMP pictures of an accident which took place on July 29 in Bedok Reservoir View Road, which involved an SMRT bus and four cars.

Victor, Henry and Philip have separately sent us MMSes of this accident at the junction of Toa Payoh Lorong 4 and Toa Payoh East. The car had crashed through the barrier and landed in the drain at about 4pm today (Jul 28). It was raining heavily at the time of accident.

We have also received several SMSes alerting us to this accident. Thank you STOMPers!

Jeremy Wong, 27, sent us this MMS of a container truck which fell over on its side at the junction of Tuas West Road and Pioneer Road. Police received a call about this accident at 10.10 am Friday (28 July) and have since taken the truck off the road. No one was injured in the accident. Police are still investigating the cause of the accident.

Mr Teh sent us this MMS of an accident which occurred on PIE near the sliproad to Toa Payoh at about 10.30pm last night (Jul 26). The driver of the overturned car was successfully extracted by several other drivers who stopped to help. According to Mr Teh, who was passing by on a motorcycle, it was apparently a case of hit-and-run: the other vehicle involved in the accident has fled the scene.

Peter Leong, 59, noticed this piece of rusty fitness equipment in the fitness corner in front of Block 1, Teck Whye Avenue. He says it is rusty and is a potential mosquito breeding ground as when he puts his shirt over the equipment while doing his pushups, it is soaked.

49- year- old, Soh Poh Huat, a financial adviser is just plain fed-up. ''Why can't people hang the flag right?'' he wants to know. And he's not alone.

Another STOMPer is wondering what's up, too. We've been receiving quite a number of pictures from you of flags hung the wrong way.

30-year-old Danny Cho who is in airline sales couldn't believe his eyes when he saw a pink dustpan (with broom attached!) used to warn drivers of a broken down bus. In expectation of the bus fare hikes to come, Danny sent us this message: ''Perhaps once sbs increases fares, it can afford a proper breakdown triangle.''
Well Danny, all we can add is that we're pleased the driver had a good eye for colour.

Always ride safely! STOMP user Mohd Faizal, 26, MMSed us this picture. He said: 'This cyclist was tailgating the vehicle all the way from Mandai estate to Marsiling with a distance of less than 6 metres'. According to an ST article dated Jul 19, one cyclist is involved in an accident everyday. So for those of you who love the sport, this message is for you: Do ride safely.

Mr Ng sent this photo to STOMP.

Jeremy Kew sent this MMS to STOMP.

Jeremy Kew was on the North-east line heading to Harbourfront station when a flash and loud bang brought the train to an abrupt halt shortly after leaving Outram Park station at about 12.50 pm on Monday (Jul 24).

The 25-year-old had thought it was another emergency exercise. According to Mr Kew, the passengers on board were calm and composed, thanks to a staff member of SBS Transit, who happened to be on board the train. The staff member walked from carriage to carriage to check on the well-being of the passengers and urged them to remain calm. An off-duty police officer also gave assistance.

It took about 30 minutes before SBS Transit staff opened a train door and evacuated the passengers, who had to walk along the tunnel for about five minutes back to Outram Park station.

At Outram Park station, an announcement on the public address system put the incident down to a power failure and urged the passengers to take the East-West line instead. Mr Kew said he was not approached by the train station staff or provided alternative transport.

Vengadesh Naidu spotted the spelling error in this notice at Boon Keng MRT station. Can you?
