The living room is the place where I chill out. I enjoy looking at my colourful plates, miniature houses, original paintings, antique radios, antique telephone, and antique camera from my living space. It gives me great pleasure reminiscing about the countries that my family and I have visited through those items.
Most of the collectibles are from online auctions, second hand stores, flea markets or weekend markets from Singapore, Australia, Turkey, Indonesia and the Middle-East. It?s like an art gallery in a four-room flat!
My other passion is to collect paintings. Most of my paintings were gifts from my artist friends from Malaysia and Singapore. I really treasure them very much.
I usually read the newspaper and do some writing in the living room. The large carpet almost covering the hall is where my four children like to play.
My wife and I don?t like ?rigid decorations.? After we get bored with the same old setting, we sometimes move the furniture and decorations around to please our eyes and the environment. I hope that one day, I can get a bigger space to accommodate my growing collections. This is the only place I love besides my own bedroom where I can lie on the carpet with few large pillows. A de-tress zone indeed!
