I got my first pair of Converse shoes (school shoes don't count) when I was 15. It was a lovely pair of Jack Purcells, and since then I've grown to really love them (and Chuck Taylors).

I've got about 18 or 19 pairs now... some of them I've never even worn... like my black leather velcro three-strapped Jack Purcells with the red stripe at the front. I was told they are a rarity, so I'm not going to wear them.

I think the basic pair of Chucks everyone has to have is a pair of black Hi-tops. I'm a big fan of Hi-tops, and my favourite pair is the Camouflage Chuck Taylor Hi-tops. I got them and the Camouflage Extra Hi-Tops in Melbourne as I doubt they're available in Singapore.

What makes Converse shoes the best thing ever? You can wear it with anything, and it just makes everything look better. And they are super comfortable, you could do sports in them, chill and hang out in them, go clubbing in them, go to work in them... Everything! And the designs aren't too shabby either.
