These photos are taken by Mr Choo Khoon Hock, an avid getai fan. The 66-year-old used to getai-hop alone on his motorbike but now goes to these events with his wife of 40 years. Mr Choo swears by his fully manual Olympia MGI-2 film camera when capturing getai shots. The grandfather of three had initially decided to stop taking getai pictures this year because his wife thinks it is a “waste of money”. But he responded to STOMP’s call for getai shots and offered to take these photos for us. The photos here feature getai performances in Eunos, the Sim Lim Tower area, Jalan Kukup and Kaki Bukit.
